On June 12, 2026, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission issued the Final Environmental Impact Statement for the Seminoe Pumped Storage Project, a proposed long-duration energy storage facility in Carbon County, Wyoming.
The FEIS concludes that the project can be constructed and operated with appropriate mitigation measures to avoid, minimize, or offset environmental impacts while delivering substantial public benefits.
The document reflects years of environmental review, technical analysis, agency and Tribal consultation, public involvement, and consideration of alternatives. If developed, the project would strengthen grid reliability, enhance energy storage capacity throughout Wyoming and the western United States.
